Creating Happiness Together – UK Work Overview

Creating Happiness Together (CHT) is a grassroots charity supporting vulnerable individuals and families across the UK, with a strong focus on Bradford and surrounding communities. Our work is rooted in compassion, dignity, and direct, hands-on support for people facing hardship, crisis, and loss.

In the UK, our work addresses homelessness, poverty, domestic abuse support, child welfare, bereavement support, and seasonal hardship, responding quickly and sensitively where support is most urgently needed.

During Ramadan, CHT provides Iftar meals and Ramadan support to individuals and families experiencing financial difficulty, ensuring people are able to break their fast with dignity.

CHT carries out regular street outreach for people experiencing homelessness, particularly during freezing winter conditions. This includes the distribution of hot meals and blankets, as well as late-night outreach during extreme weather, prioritising warmth, safety, and human connection.

A key area of our UK work is supporting mothers and babies affected by domestic violence and financial hardship. This includes the provision of baby essentials such as nappies, formula, wipes, and clothing, as well as baby car seats to help ensure safe transport for mothers fleeing abusive situations. These interventions help protect both mothers and children at times of heightened vulnerability.

CHT also distributes winter care packages containing essential cold-weather items such as hats, scarves, gloves, and practical bags, helping protect vulnerable individuals from harsh winter conditions.

Through our Toy Bank, CHT supports children from underprivileged backgrounds by providing toys, helping to protect emotional wellbeing and ensure children are not forgotten during difficult times of the year.

A deeply important part of CHT’s UK work is bereavement and burial support. To date, CHT has provided practical, physical, and emotional assistance in connection with 643 burials for families in need. This support takes place at the graveyard and before and after the burial, offering presence, reassurance, and help during moments of grief. CHT does not arrange funerals or make any decisions regarding burial arrangements; our role is purely to support families with dignity, sensitivity, and respect at one of the most difficult times of their lives.

All UK work carried out by Creating Happiness Together is community-led and volunteer-driven, guided by the principles of dignity, compassion, transparency, and accountability. While inspired by faith-based values, our services are inclusive and open to people of all backgrounds, based solely on need.

Through consistent grassroots action, Creating Happiness Together continues to support some of the most vulnerable members of UK communities — offering warmth, nourishment, safety, care, and dignity in times of hardship and loss.
